We had plans to go to the lake this weekend but I would up having to work on Saturday. With not a lot of warm weekends left I feel bad that we had to change our plans so abruptly. Camping and fishing at the lake will have to wait until next weekend, lets hope we have nice weather for a couple of more weekends for us to spend some time at the lake. I have not had the chance to go fishing and camping as much as I would like, but that is going to change very soon and I for one can not wait for the change.

In the month of September we have a lot of big birthdays this year, I turn 50 and my grandson David turns 7. These will be huge parties, well at least his birthday will be huge on the 19th we are planning to take him and a couple of his friend to the go cart track and play miniature golf. It will be a party for the ages. David has driven the go carts and had a blast I hope his friends have fun too. For my birthday, I plan to lie in my bed and pout for the whole day and maybe no one will remember it either. Well at least a guy can hope.

The start of the football season is just around the corner and I for one can not wait for the first kickoff that is for real. I hate the preseason games and do not watch very much of them when they are on TV. It is a waste of time to watch after the starters go out before halftime in most of the preseason games. Most of the players still in the game after that will not ever be seen again. I can wait for the start of the games that mean something and that is right around the corner. I am getting goose bumps waiting on the start of the football season.

Let me start this post by saying that I love to go fishing, it is one of the most relaxing things yo9u can do on your day off. I live very close to a huge lake and try to get myself to the lake every chance I have. I know I have not had as many chances as I would like over the years but I vow to change that starting this fall. I plan to go fishing and camping a lot this fall and again next year. I know that my grandson David will love it and he is the main reason that I will be spending more time at the lake. I can not wait!

There are two days of the year that I will not work at all. Jan 8th and Aug 16th (today). The day that Elvis was born and the day that he died in 1977. The one time I tried to work on one of these special days I wrecked my truck so bad that it was in the shop for 2 weeks, and have not worked on one of them since. And I have no plans what so ever to work on either of these days for the rest of the time that I am working. It is not worth the risk or the danger to work on these redneck holy days.
